The Consumers’ Association (Neytendasamtökin) operates the Renting Helpline under an agreement with the Ministry of Social Affairs. This service is open to all who let or rent premises (landlords and tenants), and is free.
Staff at the Renting Helpline are able to explain and advise about your rights and obligations when letting or renting premises. Landlords and tenants are also urged to make use of the material here on the homepage.
When landlords and tenants cannot resolve their differences, they can submit them to the Housing Complaints Committee.
The Renting Helpline phone desk is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30-15:00.
